HACKERS’ WEEKEND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ECHO NEST
Best-selling author, entrepreneur and agent of change Seth Godin will give an opening keynote address at Rethink Music 2012. Produced by Berklee College of Music and midem and running from 22-24 April 2012 in Boston, MA, Rethink Music is a solutions-focused event with workshops, presentations, and panels designed to transform tomorrow's music industry.
In order to promote innovation, Rethink Music is pleased to be hosting a Hackers’ Weekend this year on 21-22 April in Cambridge, MA, in partnership with The Echo Nest. Also, the Genesis Project startup competition will be sponsored by Duane Morris, offering $10,000 in legal services to the winner.
Business Week's "Ultimate Entrepreneur for the Information Age," Seth Godin has written 13 best-selling books that have been translated into more than 35 languages and was named one of the top 21 speakers for the 21st century by Successful Meetings magazine. Godin writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything. Music technology firm The Echo Nest is the new partner of Rethink Music’s Hackers’ Weekend. Hosted at Microsoft's New England Research & Development Center in Cambridge, MA, this is a weekend for developers, designers, programmers, industry insiders and musicians to come together to create new and unique applications across many different platforms. After the scheduled elevator pitches, in-depth workshops and the two-day hacks building, 3 winners will be selected on Sunday afternoon and will present their hacks to the attendees of the Rethink Music Conference, on Monday 23 April.
Organised in partnership with Boston-based #1 U.S. business school for entrepreneurship Babson College, Rethink Music 2012 Genesis Project competition will recognise new concepts, technologies and businesses which can move the music industry forward. Leading law firm Duane Morris LLP will provide the winning project with $10,000 in legal services, amongst other awards, and submissions to the competition are open until 15 March 2012.
