Education and Exhibits Kick-off the First Week in September
Registration is now open for International Vision Expo West, the complete eye care event. The event, co-owned by The Vision Council and Reed Exhibitions, will return to the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas following the Labor Day weekend, September 5-8, 2012 (Education: September 5-8, Exhibition: September 6-8).
“Our show provides attendees with the flexibility to customize their education strategies in the classroom and test drive the equipment and products right on our show floor with the help of more than 475 exhibitors,” said Tom Loughran, vice president for Reed Exhibitions. “This is the one of the main reasons that International Vision Expo & Conference continues to attract and educate more optometrists than any other eye care meeting.”
This year’s conference program features 350 continuing education hours, covering disease diagnosis, treatment and management, clinical application of products, and business solutions. Eye care professionals (ECPs) are sure to learn innovative concepts for the health of their patients and the health of their practice, with more than 200 hours of dedicated clinical/medical content and 100 hours of business content to choose from. In addition, ECPs can enrich their learning and practice to the fullest extent of their license by selecting courses from several essential core competencies, including: Allied Health (18 hours), Contact Lenses (22 hours), Frame Buyer’s Certificate Program (13 hours), Optical Technology (50 hours), and Staff Training and Cross Training Boot Camps (19 hours).
New for 2012, the Conference Advisory Board has added the following features to the Vision Expo West program:
- New Government Regulations: Get up-to-the-minute requirements for several new “mandatory” programs that involve both incentives and penalties, Electronic Health Records, PQRS, e-prescribing and coding compliance.
- UV Symposium: An engaging and informative two-hour, 3-O panel will explore the effects of ultraviolet (UV) damage, product solutions to guard against exposure, and ways to get the UV protection message to your patients and community.
- Sales U: Brand new, three-hour practical session on selling. Hone your sales skills from probing to managing objections and everything in-between in an informative and interactive workshop. Everything you need to know to boost your confidence, patient satisfaction and profits.
Show organizers have also left plenty of time for networking and parties during the after-hours of International Vision Expo West. On Thursday, September 6, attendees and exhibitors are invited to kick-off the show with an opening night party at TAO Nightclub. Guests who present their show badge and ID will receive complimentary admission and one-hour of open bar from 10:30-11:30p.m.
Take advantage of early bird specials. Attendees who complete their registration by midnight on August 6 will receive a $25 discount. Total Office Pricing and À la Carte options provide customizable registration package options for both individuals and practices. In addition, organizers have been hard at work to ensure attendees experience the best value and most enjoyment while in Las Vegas. Dozens of valuable travel and entertainment discounts have been arranged with business owners and visitors associations to-date.
