BHA and Reed Exhibitions enter into an exclusive agreement to support Helitech

17 Jun 2011

BHA to chair guest forum at the Helitech Conference

The British Helicopter Association (BHA) and Reed Exhibitions have signed a two-year deal for BHA exclusively to support Helitech, which takes place this year at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, near Cambridge, from 27 to 29 September.

As part of the agreement the BHA will be chairing a guest forum during Helitech’s conference programme.

BHA Chief Executive, Peter Norton, said: “We recognise that Helitech has been supporting the European rotary wing sector for the last 25 years so we’re delighted to be cementing our relationship further with the Helitech team by endorsing its offering to all our members. It’s an important time in the rotary wing industry with several new regulations coming on board so it’s very valuable for us to have the opportunity to speak during this year’s conference to spread awareness of this.”

Helitech Exhibition Manager, Brandon Ward, said: “The BHA has been a staunch supporter of Helitech over the last quarter of a century – but a more formal agreement means that our relationship will allow both parties to benefit from our contacts and expertise in the industry. The agreement will also allow the BHA further resources to continue the great work that it currently does on behalf of its members and the industry. I am very happy that the BHA and its members recognise the value Helitech continues to deliver to the industry, and I am very excited about the new conference programme that the BHA are involved in."

The BHA guest forum takes place as part of the Helitech Conference on the morning of 29 September, kicking off with an introduction from Peter Norton, CEO of the BHA. The European Helicopter Association’s Chairman, Dr Vittorio Morassi, will give a European perspective on the issues and challenges currently facing the industry while one of EASA’s helicopter specialists, Bas van-der-Weide will discuss the latest implications of European helicopter safety regulations.

The Helitech Conference, which is proudly sponsored by Bell Helicopter, takes place over the afternoon of 28 September and the morning of 29 September. In addition to the BHA Guest Forum, this year’s conference will cover topics such as the challenges of servicing the growing fields of offshore wind farms and how the latest developments in rotary engines are helping to drive down cost and create better value for operators.
