TOKYO DESIGN & FASHION WATCH FAIR (TWF): 3rd Edition of TWF Returns under New Name

06 Oct 2010

January 26(Wed) - 29 (Sat), 2011
 Tokyo Big Sight, Japan

Show Management announced that Tokyo International Watch Fair will officially change its show name to Tokyo Design & Fashion Watch Fair in 2011. The show will still use the same acronym “TWF.”

Since its initial launch in 2009, TWF has enjoyed great success as Japan’s only international watch show, increasing its number of exhibitors and expanding in scale. The new show name will better reflect the concept of the show, where a wide range of fashionable and trend-setting watches with unique designs and functions will gather from all over Japan and the world.

Organised by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd., TWF will return for its 3rd edition from January 26-29, 2011 at Tokyo Big Sight.

Exhibitors to Increase by 20%

With more stylish and casual watch companies set to participate, TWF 2011 expects to welcome 100 exhibitors, which is a 20% increase from the last show which had 82 exhibitors.  Many exhibitors voiced expectations that the new show name and concept will attract more of their targeted buyers to the venue.

Surge in Number of Buyers from Apparel Industry and Boutiques

As of this time, buyer registrations from those wishing to visit the show have already exceeded that of last year, reflecting the high level of anticipation for TWF 2011.

In addition to watch stores, major chain stores, and department stores, professional buyers especially from the apparel industry and boutiques sourcing high-designed, casual watches are expected to increase.

Potential buyers have expressed their desire to source for new watch brands to differentiate them from their competitors, as well as discover the next hot-selling watches at TWF.  Needs for price competitive watches are increasing among mass retailers and mail-order companies as well, and TWF is also drawing attention from such buyers.

With the increase in exhibitors and buyers, Show Management expects the next TWF to become an even busier show. The fact that more retailers are proactively looking for watches that will set them apart from competitors, and that buyers from other fields will be searching for business opportunities with watch companies will have a favorable impact on the outcome of TWF.
