Melbourne seminar explores dermatology in general practice
When a GP thinks of the emergencies which may present at his or her practice, dermatological conditions are generally not the first problems to spring to mind.
Dermatological ‘emergencies’ however, are some that will be explored at an important seminar, offered as part of the Melbourne General Practitioner Conference & Exhibition (GPCE) to be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 12-14 November.
“Dermatology in General Practice – acute and urgent dermatological conditions” will provide a brief overview of some of the urgent and acute dermatological disorders that may present to a GPs rooms, as well as important information about how to manage these appropriately.
The session will be led by Dr Jeremy Banky, a dermatologist and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr Banky has completed extensive training in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery, is widely published and also plays an active role in the teaching of dermatology trainees and GPs. Dr Banky operates from The Alfred, Masada Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital in Melbourne. His special interest are in the management of skin cancer, acne and cosmetic and laser dermatology.
